The Carrick House, exterior

When the Carrick House was originally built it included the side wings as a single story and the front façade shows evidence of this. On the side wings, between the first and second floors, there is an entablature with Doric vernacular pilasters that mimic the entablature of the full-height porch, which are no longer marking the top of the building. The addition at the back was built in brick and painted white to match the original house.
